Bani, the watermelon producer in Pangasinan had been known not only in the entire Northern Luzon, but also in the Philippines for its Pakwan. Grown in soil rich with limestones, the Bani’s watermelon is surely one of a kind.

To boost the tourism industry and to further address the importance of watermelon as the primary product of the town, the town of Bani celebrating Pakwan Festival annually. In 2014, when the said festival was first celebrated, they unveiled the Pakwan Fountain located at the center of the municipal plaza.

This year, the celebration will be highlighted with fun and exciting activities like: Float Parade, Tambol at Kudyapi, Women’s Pakwan day, Lakbay Aral sa Bukid Pakwanan, Lutong Pakwan Challenge, Pakwan Symposium, Pakwan Idol, Pakwan Carnivale, Sky Diving, Street Party and a lot more.
